Okay, so you’re ready to start planning the annual “sha-bang” for your child’s party.  Your first thought is, “Hmmm, what’s going to be theme this time?”  The best thing you should do is start brainstorming ideas and potential party locations.  Begin with a theme that focuses on your child’s current interests such as favorite tv shows, favorite cartoons, etc.  Once you finally narrowed it down to a central theme, it will be much easier to adapt everything else from invitations and decor to party favors and games.  Trust me, this process will save you a lot of time and headache.  

Now if you’re having a bit of a time trying to figure out a theme for the little one, try taking a stroll through a few different party sections of different stores.  They’ll have a vast array available for just about every popular them out there.  Sometimes the theme with the most supplies might be the easiest to plan.  But if you have a specific character in mind, you can always add different items to go along with your theme, even it’s simply just using the same color schemes as your party theme.  Also, remember, you don’t have to do something exactly like the cartoon or character.  Put a spin on the theme.  Instead of having just having a Winnie the Pooh party, have a Winnie the Pool Luau.  Serve tropical drinks in honey jar shaped glasses with little umbrellas.  Okay it does sound it little weird, but who cares!  Think outside of the box and have fun! 

Okay, back to the theme-pickin.  Don’t forget to involve your child (or children) if it’s not a surprise.  You’d be amazed how good, unique ideas can come from kids.  Yes, a few of them can be way off somewhere in neverland, but again – you can put a spin on anything and make it unique.  

I do have a bit of input on Infant and Toddler Parties, I do suggest the K.I.S.S. Method (Keep it Simple, Shuga).  We don’t want to scare or confuse the little ones.  Both of my daughter’s first parties were (and still are) simple.  Have good food, a few games, a moonwalk (hint, hint) and/or cartoon character (hint, hint again) and the kids will be good to go.  During these 3 and under years, I wouldn’t stress to much about the perfect theme.  These celebrations are more for the parent anyway.  We’re celebrating not having to turn to the good ole al-ke-hol when our kids have driven us crazy over and over again – and we’re just talking the past week, let alone the past year. 

Now see, I spoke to soon.  Here comes my little 2 feet and under troop, pulling on my legs, trying to type on the keyboard, etc.  So what does this mean?  That I’m going to have to continue my input on Themes until next time.  Try to come up with some of your own too.

Welcome to Giggles and Jumps Moonwalk and Party Rentals blog.  It’s that time again.  The sun’s shining a little brighter, the bitter cold is starting to lighten up (depending where you live), and you’re ready to start moving those inside parties outside.  If you’re in the Chicago and Northwest Indiana areas check out Giggles and Jumps Moonwalk and Party Rentals for all your party needs.  We are a family owned operation focused on good customer service and delivering fun.

We offer moonwalks (some call them moonwalk, moonbounce, moonjump, jumper, inflatable bounce, etc.) that will allow your kids to jump until they fall out from sheer exhaustion and go straight to sleep (we all know how good that is).

Also available are interactive games such as the Joust (gladiator style) and Sumo Wrestling Suits.  Now on a side note, the interactive games are great for adults too.  For example, say you’re having marital problems.  You’re tired of hearing she has a headache and she’s tired of you period.  Call Giggles and Jumps!  You can rent the Joust or Sumo Suits and pounce and pound each other until you both fall out!  At least you can do it legally this way!  Just kidding.  The party inflatables are designed to be fun and enjoyable.

Face painting services are also available.  This is a lot of fun.  It’s something about having your body altered with color that gets kids and adults all happy and giggly.
